Steven B. Dodge Information

While working as Vice President at Bank of Boston from 1971 to 1978, Steven B. Dodge specialized in commercial lending that focused on motion picture and cable television projects. This experience gave him a thorough understanding of the industry and helped him build successful businesses.

After leaving Bank of Boston in 1978, Steven B. Dodge decided to found his own company. This would allow him to focus on his own interests in the entertainment industry. He started by creating American CableSystems Corporation. Serving as the CEO, founder, and leading stockholder, Dodge had significant influence over the company’s business decisions. Under his guidance, the organization became one of the top 20 cable television companies in the United States. He decided to sell the company in 1988 to Continental for $450 million.

Having successfully created his first business, Steven B. Dodge wanted to apply his experience to a new company. He accomplished this goal by founding American RadioSystems Corporation in 1988. His hard work and keen business sense helped ARS prosper. It soon became the revenue and ratings share leader in all but one of 20 markets. The company’s shares traded on the NYSE until 1998, when it merged into CBS Radio.

After merging ARS with CBS Radio, Steven B. Dodge needed a new business to challenge him, so he began to focus his attention on American Tower Corporation. American Tower Corporation had started as a subsidiary of ARS. The organization, however, was spun off in 1998. Dodge continued to build the company until it became the leading owner and operator of communications towers in the whole world. Dodge left the company in good hands when he decided to make a significant career change in 2003.

Dodge’s career change would allow him to focus on one of his first loves: architecture and landscape design. He started Windover Development LLC (www.windoverllc.com) as a means of devoting himself to these interests. Since 2003, the company has created several impressive homes and commercial structures, including the Boulders in Wenham, MA and Wenham Hall at EndicottCollege.

Steven B. Dodge continues to expand Windover Development LLC by establishing innovative projects. He also focuses on his other interests: philanthropy, land conservation, minority education, and environmental concerns.
